You Have got to go to the Ellen Show!
By Annie Demyan
If you live in the greater Los Angeles area or are planning a trip to Southern California, you’ve got to put “Go to the Ellen Show” on your to-do list! It’s definitely a great time and Ellen is one of the most hilarious, generous, and friendly talk show hosts around. Tickets to see her show are FREE, that’s right FREE, and they film about 3-4 days a week in Burbank California. You can sign up for tickets on the Ellen Show website. Just see what show tapings are available and click on the day you want to go. You can request 1-4 tickets for the show.
If you are reading this article now and want to go this season you have to move fast! They are only filming until March for season 7. The current available tickets are (now make sure you write this down) March 3, 4, 8, 9, and 11th. That’s it! Ellen is so popular that she is sold out for the rest of the season. She always has awesome guests and fun games that require audience participation. Not only that, but she is also known to give away a lot amazing gifts! From phones, to gift-cards, to I-Pods and computers, Ellen’s got it all to share with the audience. Even if you don’t go home with a gift, you do leave with the experience and that alone is worth it all! I mean you do get to dance and get down with Ellen. You don’t have that opportunity everyday!
Now that you’ve requested tickets, someone from Ellen’s staff will contact you. You’ve signed up and now it’s up to them to see if they can get you in. The first time we went we had “stand- by” tickets. This is pretty typical for your first attempt to get tickets. If you have stand-by tickets you show up for the taping of the show and either will get seats or not –-probably not. Bring a good book or magazine because you will be waiting for about 2 hours before you enter the studio. Since Ellen tickets are in such high demand everyone usually shows up so stand-by will literally have you standing by. In other words, few stand-by ticket holders ever get to be in the audience.
Instead, stand-by ticket holders watch the show in the Riff Raft Room. This is where Ellen’s gift shop is located, and there are large, flat screen TVs all over. It’s right next to the studio, so it’s still a fun experience. There are places to sit and relax and watch the show, but do keep in mind, they keep the studio pretty cold so bring a jacket! Once you are in the “Rift Raft” room, you’ll sign up for GUARANTEED seats to a future taping on a date of your choosing! So request tickets today and be the next lucky audience member on Ellen!
